The Holy City- Haridwar

June 15, 2017 at 2:20 pm, No comments
Haridwar is one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites and a very well known ancient city. People flock from all over India to see the very famous Ganga aarti and to take a dip in the Holy but not so clean Ganga River.

Things to do at Haridwar-

1) Witness the Ganga Aarti

The aarti takes place in the mornings as well as the evenings and the timings depend on the time of sunrise and sunset. The ghats next to the ganga river are completely crowded with people waiting to see the aarti. Make sure you find yourself a spot atleast an hour before the aarti.

2) visit Har Ki Pauri

It is a religious site and the Ghat where the Ganga aarti takes place. People come here to take a dip in the Ganges and perform rituals.Although i wont recommend you to take a dip as the water isn't very clean and you can find cleaner parts of the ganga river in Rishikesh, Gangotri etc.

3) visit Temples

Haridwar has a lot of temples you can visit like Chandi Devi Temple, Mansa Devi Temple, Daksh Mahadev Temple and Maya Devi Temple.

4) Take a stroll at Moti Bazaar

Moti Bazaar is full of small stalls with mouth watering food. Definitely try out the Gulab Jamuns and chole Bhature.

It also has a lot of shops selling garments accessories and footwear at cheap prices.

That is it for now, Cyaaa!!
